"BetaNews
- Sony Puts Net PlayStation Games In 7-Eleven" this
is cool, people in japan, can now order their favorite PSX games, and
have them delivered to their local 7-eleven (there they can pick them
up) i imagine this is so they can cut down on shipping costs, by just
delivering the games there, instead of having individual shipping trucks
going to each persons house (you know what i mean).. oh well.. i dont
live in japan, so i could care less..

"BBCNews
- Radiation Standards 'Too Low' " Ghahhah.. uuh.
actually.. this isn't funny.. Radioactive people are not happy people..
The risk to workers at nuclear plants has been under-estimated
because scientists have used the wrong measures, it is claimed. Researchers
say a reliance on studies into survivors of the A-bombs dropped on
Japan at the end of the Second World War do not give an accurate picture
of the effect on nuclear power workers.
Scientists from the University of North Carolina claim radiation safety
levels are set too low and would be higher if other studies were taken
into account.

- Sodomizer turns himself in" hehe, now this is
funny.. some guy knew there was a warrant for his arrest (due to his
Soliciting of Sodomy) in another state, so instead of "running"
from the law, he took the easy route, and turned himself in... (Thats
gotta suck.. being arrested for Sodomy........ What would you tell your
parents? :)

i bet its more "Y2GAY~!" err. WhyTewKay?..
The super-secret U.S. National Security Agency on Saturday
said its computer systems suffered a "serious" problem affecting their
ability to process intelligence data for three days this past week.
The NSA, which eavesdrops on conversations overseas to monitor possible
security threats to the United States, in a statement said the problem
had been resolved and it was confident "that no significant intelligence
information has been lost."

"PathFinder
- AOL 5.0 Deep sixes harddrives" This is just another
example of AOL trying to take over the world, through your computer.....
If you've got AOL 5.0, you may have a big problem. That
is, if you're anything like the scores of disgusted AOL customers
who filed an $8 billion class action suit against the Internet giant
Wednesday, claiming the 5.0 version of AOL's software interferes with
some computers' operating systems and alternative Internet service
providers. When AOL 5.0 is loaded onto computers, the suit alleges,
the software infiltrates the system and can strong-arm other ISPs
and other applications right out of commission.

"TechnologyNews
- Blue Laser Targets DVD's" mmm new tech.. but wait..
this article was dated 1997... why the fux0r didn't this ever take off?
i dont get it.. but hey, they promise 15gb per side, with this neato
laser thingy.. heres some paste0r..
OSAKA, Japan -- Matsushita Electric Industrial Co. Ltd.
has developed a 15-mW blue diode-based laser for use in digital video
discs that could hold 15 GB per side, compared with the current 2.6
GB per side.
The Matsushita laser is based on a wavelength-tunable distributed
Bragg reflector semiconductor laser from SDL Inc. of San Jose, Calif.
In the experimental version, SDL's laser sends 850-nm light through
a lens, which directs it through a second-harmonic-generation waveguide
to produce the blue light.
