| Ok,
heres a funny story for y'all (oh god, i've still got some american
in me). So i left work the other day, and i got into my truck, turn
the key, and my gas light comes on. This is no shock, as i usually have
to put gas'in'her every week. Anyway theres a gas station about a block
from my work, so i figured i'd stop there, then worry about getting
gas the next morning.. Oh forgot something, All day while at work i'm
wearing my 'MIDAS' (muffler shop) shirt, with the 'KEVIN' patch on it
(i like to be incognito at work); along with my long black wool overcoat.
Anyway, so i pull into the gas station, i get out, and i start pumping
gas (while looking at my truck, with my back to most of the other people
pumping). So i'm dispensing away; and i hear "excuse me sir...
excuse me.." so i ignore it (just cuz im an asshole); and it gets
closer "excuse me..." so i turn my head around, to see what
this woman wants. She's dressed in very formal businessware, looking
very respectable. I respond with my extroverted "HI!" (which
i love, cuz it catches people offguard when they're not ready for it).
So she goes on to say that i look very familar, and that she thought
i was a teacher or something. Still with my back turned to her, i said
"no im sorry, im not a teacher.. i work in IT...". I can see
her thinking... she says "Oh.. what do you do in IT?" so i
lie... "Oh im the CIO of a prominant Software company". She
goes completely wide-eyed and responds with "Oh? are you open to
other experiences, we're looking for young strong technical people?".
I said "Sure..." while snickering a bit. So she turns away
and looks at her car, and says "Would you be open to a phone call
to discuss this stuff further?" and ofcourse, i respond with "sure..."
she goes to her car to get a business card, meanwhile im still pumping
gas, and havnt turned around yet.. She comes back, and im just about
done pumping gas, and hands me her card. I take it with my free hand,
still not turning around; I finish pumping gas, and i set the nozel
back on the dispenser, and i finally turn around completely to shake
her hand, and she see's that im wearing a 'MIDAS' shirt; i can tell
that she's completely shocked and nearly speechless. The Look on her
face was PRICELESS, I dont think i'll be calling this one back :) .cre
