i went to the movies for the first time in over a year the other day
to see 'Corpse Bride'. Over all, it was a good movie, but the condition
of the theatre (even though it was one of the more ritzy theatres in
toronto, it was still packed with stupid kids, and the floors were sticky)
was horrible, and the price of the tickets aswell as the cost of refreshments
made me remember why i dont goto the theatre anymore. I wish they would
just release new movies straight to DVD, that way i could enjoy the
movie in the privacy of my own home, with a strong drink in my hand,
and dinner cooking in the background..

is why you should need a license to use a computer.. Much like a driver
needs a license to use a car; Hell anyone can buy a car; but to actually
drive one requires skills. I think the same should be held for computers;
i remember about 5years ago, when i was working with a small IT company
in toronto, we had a fairly aged Email/relay server. The server had
been functioning fine all day, and then at around 3pm (just when people
started to leave) the whole exchange box stopped responding, after some
quick investigation, we found that there had been a 20meg video file
passed around the internal office by a few of our sales people, that
was fine, since internal mail transfer barely bogs the system down..
but then one of the sales people decided to send the 20meg file to his
closest 200 friends outside the company; and apparently that was enough
to kill exchange. So yeah, incompetent employee's cost email servers
their lives.
