Alright,
so i just got back from a short trip to Montreal (its been about 8years
since i was there last), and i must say, either stuff has really changed
over there, or i've got an awful memory... Apparently you can't make
a Right Turn on a Red-Light anywhere in Montreal (in other areas of
quebec its fine to make a right on a red), and "green arrows pointing
ahead" apparently means "no left turn on a green" ???
i dunno, people are strange over there. i dont think i'll ever get used
to those rules of the road.. Anyway, its good to be back home.

Seriously, i cant tell you how many times in a day that i run into an
"IT Person" or an "Network Person" who knows nothing
about computers. In my job, i am forced to work with technicians over
the phone mostly troubleshooting network problems, i was talking to
some guy the other day and i asked him to check his cables on his devices,
and ping the IP of the device in question, he replied with "Oh
im Cisco Certified, i already did all that", so i asked "ok,
what responses did you get when you ping'd the IP?", he replied
"Ping? how do you do that?". i had no response. This article
doesnt surprize me in the slightest.

i dont think i will ever understand the WoW sensation, a friend of mine
tried to show me how "cool" it was one day, i went over to
his house, grabbed a beer, sat down in his computer room, he loaded
up WoW, he spawned, i though "those are some nice graphics, why
dont you go kill a giant ogre or something so i can see what the battles
are like", he replied "oh i cant attack anything big, i have
to wait here in the town till enough of my guild show up, so we can
go kill stuff." i said "oh, so how long do we have to wait?"
he replied "20-30minutes, sometimes longer.." i finished my
beer a few minutes later, and then i went home. He could still be waiting
for enough of his guild mates to come online. But atleast now he can
surf porn while he's waiting i guess. oh technology
